We moved my mom over the Harbison Shores about 5 months ago. The is so much better. She talks more and loves the staff. They are great at keeping me informed about her. Best way mom has been since having to be in a facility.

June is Oral Health Month
Our teeth play a vital role in our lives. They allow us to flash a smile at our friends or chew our favorite meal. It is vital to keep our teeth and gums healthy as issues can increase or worsen with age. June is Oral Health Month; a month to celebrate healthy teeth and make sure you are properly practicing oral health. Regular trips to the dentist are a great way to make sure you are staying on track. It would be detrimental not to keep up with a routine. Here are a few easy tips and reminders to make sure you are taking care of your teeth and gums at home.
· Brushing is key for healthy teeth and gums. This will keep away cavities and prevent gum disease. There are special toothpastes if you are experiencing sensitivity in your teeth- though it is always a good idea to ask your dentist if the problem persists.
· Flossing is another important part of oral health. Food can often get stuck in between teeth. Flossing is an easy way to remove anything built up there. It is also a good way to help prevent gum disease. Mouthwash is another good way to take care of your teeth and gums. It eliminates bacteria and gives us fresh smelling breath.
· Proper cleaning of dentures is also important for both oral and overall health. Be sure to handle your dentures with care. It is necessary to clean your dentures daily and to store them properly when you are not wearing them.
